Same Or Different?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

What is the difference between probiotics and enzymes? And can or should you take both at same time?

Digestive enzymes, such as lipase, protease, amylase and lactase, are specific proteins that are produced in the GI tract to break down our food into digestible nutrients that can be readily absorbed and utilised by the body. Probiotics on the other hand are not produced by the body at all.

I give my daughter both the digestive enzymes help with bloating ie burping and farting. The Probiotics aid with good bacteria in the gut.

I think Houston labs makes something like that where you can take the enzymes but you don't necessarily have to be gluten free

I have a related question, do I have the option to give my daughter enzymes and protobiotics instead of limiting her diet?
