sippy cups. At 7 we still use them.

Hi @feeding! My son used to swipe food off the table and deliberately dump his drink . We had carpet too:(
I'm not sure if this is the same situation, but our ABA therapist told us to over correct ., meaning my son would have to clean up his mess, not making it 'fun' whatsoever . He'd have to get napkins, wipe , run to trash, and I'd make him clean, then help to disinfect, (try not to give him eye contact) and repeat as many times as necessary. Eventually he stopped. He would per deliberately too, and used the same technique . It's a lot of extra work, I know. But I hope it helps some!

My son, 6, still uses some sippy cups... or rather spill proof cups that use straws... He doesn't have the same issue (he doesn't purposely knock them over) but he has no spatial awareness. So, he will often knock cups over, trays, bump into kids, walls, people, animals, whatever is there to reach his destination without ever realizing he did it.

I'd totally go for the first suggestion posted by Mom2two. That seems like a fantastic idea to start with!

Good idea about sippies! Owen still drinks from a straw all the time, with a lid.
