We used toddler toothpaste until our son started to spit it out. (5 1/2) We used non fluoride just in case until recently. He was eating the toothpaste because he liked the taste. An OT helped him brush his teeth through modeling and a visual. He started to spit when it did not taste good. He enjoyed the kid vibrating brush and it made him more motivated to let us brush. The free Sesame Street computer games show a good example of how to brush. He also liked a spider man brush that had a little suction Spider man head to stick on the mirror.
