We've been homeschooling our 10 year old daughter for 2 years this November. I was curious to see how many families have chosen to go this route, and what resources, curriculum, activities you do.
We have been home schooling since March 2014 - we are on our second teacher - first one was a bust! I started with the activities that I knew helped to keep my son's mind engaged and when he applies himself his moods improved. Initially it was loads of kiddies puzzles (he stills builds about 4 a day), tracing letters and numbers (he has struggled with the pencil grip), hand-made lacing activities (colored cardboard in various shapes, laminated then punched holes in and got colored shoe laces). I bought several kindergarden activity books and used the kiddies computer games we had in stock.
Our curriculum has been supplemented with his ABA lessons now, we also have an eReader and children apps for matching shapes, letters, puzzles - loads of free stuff online. I also get ideas from [[email: [[email: [[email: [[email: (Email address can only be seen by the question and answer creators) and www.cleverfish.co.za.
