Hi - We are looking for an experienced special needs nanny for mild/moderate autism (speech delay) in Lexington for 5 yr old. I have posted on care / sittercity and several agencies and several colleges. We do not qualify for a PCA nor would they be able to provide hours needed - school pick up until 6 pm. Take to ST/OT , monitor ABA. Excellent driving record, reliable car, non smoker, experience with special needs, allergies (nuts)

it can go both ways. Yes there are lots of things but also a lot of bureaucracy and waiting lists.. 6 + months for ABA and ARC is not always that helpful or organized.. best of luck. I lived in MD (not really the South..) but everyone was a little friendlier which went a long way... sometimes common sense and nurturing is better than piles of paperwok

Your best bet is to look into an Arc program in your area. You are blessed to live there as they do so much more for Autistics than the South does.
