Hi my 5 year old is still in pull ups. We take him to the bathroom and all he wants to do is just sit there and play with everything around him. He is nonverbal. Any suggestions? Thanks

I highly recommend keeping a log for a couple of weeks. Log how much liquid he drinks and check pull ups every 30 minutes. Basically, you want to log how much he drinks and how long after he pees. When you start establishing the pattern you can take him when you know he is most likely to go. I developed some log sheets and we used them at home with the therapists and when he was with me for rest of day. It worked really well. Good luck!

I have a 7 year old nonverbal autistic son. And for a long time he would go number one but would poop everywhere but the bathroom. Now after a long journey we have done it he now poops in the bathroom. You just have give your child time. He will use the bathroom when hes ready. Reward he when he dose use the bathroom.
