19 Month Old With ASD: Dramatic Increase In Frequency And Variety Of SIB: HELP PLEASE! Thank You In Advance!
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Over about the past 3 weeks, my 19 month old son with ASD (Asperger's) has had a dramatic increase in his head banging (mainly) and other other SIBs (wrist biting/arm banging/scratching, etc). He is at the point now that he is trying to do these things at least every 10-15 minutes, whether he has an audience or not (rather, thinks he doesn't have an audience...I've invested in video monitors for every room) and will say "Ouch, ouch, ouch..."
I'm not sure what is causing this, but it is breaking… read more

How To Get A Toddler To Wear Socks?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My daughter will not wear socks. She cries and has a really bad reaction if I try to put them on her. Her shoes and feet smell terrible. I know it seems silly but I don't know what to do about it. I have washed her shoes, but it seems to make the smell worse. I am at the point where I have to get her new shoes at least once a month or more because the smell is awful. Has anyone had this issue and if so is there a certain pair of socks that might be more comfortable then others for her or should… read more

Menstrual Cycle.....yikes!!!
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello everyone.. hope all is well with everyone. I have a question for the mothers of high functioning daughters..how did you handle the anxiety of your daughter getting their cycle? My daughter is only 9 so i have time (hopefully) but i have been stressing over this day. My daughter has sensory issues and absolutely hates anything wet on her. She will take her clothes off on site and this can be very challenging for both of us. To the mothers, how did you handle this problem?

We made a robot costume. Easy to make. Couple of boxes and lots of tin foil. We had fun making it. Lots of good pictures on the internet for ideas.
