Autism Signs
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is almost 19 months, he doesn't talk yet, he rarely respond to his name, but eye contact is good. Has started recently to tippy toe walk, more everyday, and lining cubes but also stacking them, gets a little upset if I move the cubes when he's lining them, but he doesn't cry. Loves playing peekaboo and hide and seek, loves chasing me or his older brother and likes to be chased, seeks attention from adults and loves new places, he doesn't point but reaches for what he wants. I was the same way...actually my son was using words and eating and progressing..then at 18 months he started regressing and like you everyone told me that it was normal..I just knew it wasn't. My pediatrician at the time made me take a little 10 question quiz and said no he is fine..I couldn't accept that for an answer so we went to children's and he was diagnosed with autism...sometimes you just know these things. The signs you have seen are also the signs I noticed..hope this helps!

It's hard when you are not sure. Honestly I can say I knew and people were like no he's fine. I think you already know the answer to if it's autism or not. You've I'm sure read every on line article you could fine. You are searching for a reason to believe you are wrong. It's ok to try to explain it away. Hopefully you are wrong and your child is not autistic. I just feel if that were true you'd know.

You're doing the right thing in getting an evaluation now. You know your child best. And the if the evaluation doesn't match what you're seeing don't be afraid to get a second opinion.

Thank you so much!
If he ends up having asd we would like to also try biomedical treatments besides the therapies. From what I've read maps, dan doctors don't accept insurance right??? Do you know what the price range is????
