What do you encourage for independent play. Be have drawing and puzzles down but can't seem to find anything else she'll take interest in. She's almost 3 and electronics are not an option at this time.
Musicial instruments is a thought. I'd love for her to learn to play something. :)

The definition of homeschool here is a center setup with small number of students. (Homeschool here may have different definition to most other countries, where it means strictly doing studies in own home).

Hello, we've heard great things about the school districts in Irvine. My 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with moderate ASD. She's been in a special day class in San Leandro, CA and has been in every type of service since she was initially diagnosed (private OT, ABA, Speech and music therapy). The school has offered the basics, and not even OT! After sending letters she will finally have an assessment. She is transitioning to Kinder. I have 2 questions. The 1st one is how do you control parents at social events that you do not know very well when they overreact to your child’s obsessive/odd behaviors (repeating phrases- which they just stared at him when he would walk up and say his phrase, obsessing over an object, lining up things). I had parents that I didn’t know trying to clean up his lines and taking things away from him that he thought he shouldn’t be messing with (like balloons). It drove me crazy!!! I don’t want to… read more
