That's fantastic!
I took my son out of school and started home schooling at the beginning of 7th grade. The first year I used the video package that has a teacher in a class presenting the lesson. We had the student and teacher books. It,was a good start though the homework assignments became too much. I relaxed on the homework requirements after talking to other parents in the home school association. The home school assoc. met every other Friday (we're in a very rural area and moat come quite a distance to attend). One parent would give a short class then children would play and mothers talked. We brought lunch or had potluck. He made friends, socialized with the younger kids. I think he felt like a leader and was more secure with the younger kids. He graduated last year!
Our son is 6 & in kindergarten at a public school. I have deliberated over homeschooling since he started preschool. I've opted against it because of the social aspects school provides, plus he has a few classes with "typical" developing kiddos so I keep him in school. I feel the exposure is critical to his development. What do your instincts tell you?
