Hello. I have a 7 year old son with ASD - verbal, more on the higher functioning end but still has social and behavioral issues. He is in a special day class here in CA with 6 other kids with special needs. This class is part of an elementary school. Both Collingswood and Audubon school districts in Camden county have great programs for special needs and ASD. My son is at Zane North elementary in Collingswood, next year for kindergarten he will spend half the day in a self contained class and half the day integrated. He recieves ST and OT. The teachers are extremely caring and the community is great.

Bergen County even though it is not on your list. I have several friends that I grew up with who have/had children on the spectrum in the schools. Here's a link for the info.

The middle school and high school are connected, but they do keep the kids separate. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Thank you so much. Those are areas we are considering and will definitely look into it including Zane. Sounds really good for my ASD son. My only concern is the high school. My older son is 11 and very shy. Big school. He is NT but very anxious and takes a long time to warm up to new things. So such a balance :/
