How To Get ABA Services At Home If I Have Only Metroplus Medicaid.
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am searching online for any agency here in Queens NY that provides ABA services at home that accepts medicaid. Til now still can't find any. Aside from the speech, OT and counselling getting from the school, my son will surely benefit ABA therapy at home. the school he is at right now no ABA service offered. I badly need help with this matter.

Thank you :)

I tried looking online. No luck. But it was a quick search.
Here is what I would do...
*Ask his doctor for a referral for 'behavioral health' services, particularly ABA if available. The referral will get you moving in the right direction.
*apply for a Medicaid waiver. This can help get services otherwise unavailable where you live. (Message me if you need information on this.)
Hope this helps!

If you do not have an IEP that says your child needs ABA then you need to make sure it is a part of the IEP. If the school has done an evaluation and they say your child doesn't need it, then get an outside evaluation that says they do. Then call for an IEP meeting and ask for it.

If the school does not have staff to provide ABA it is their responsibility to pay for an outside company to do it. We had the school paying fior 3 hrs a day after school because they could do it. Now if you can't prove it then you are really going to have to fight and they may still say no.
