Anyone Have Experience With Service Dog?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey everyone.
My husband and I were reading up on autism service dogs and how beneficial they are. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this? And how the service dog helped your child? I know they are soooooooo expensive and it will be a few years before we will be able to get one for him. Any experience or advice is much appreciated!

You may be more able to be excepted for a esa...emotional support animal...its like a service animal but can not go in to public places such as restaurant and stores in most states so you would have to look up rules and regulations in your area...bitut i will say esa is something we are looking in to in the future for our son ..it is ment more for your child to connect to another...even being an animal..they can be great therapy for any child...the other difference is they won't have the training a certified service animal would...also a reason in most states these animals are not aloud in public buildings ...but I highly recommend either if your able and think it would be highly beneficial for your child ...

Thank you for your answers!!
We were also looking into a companion dog for my son if not a service dog . I'm not sure if he qualifies for a service dog, but we think he would benefit from either. It will definitely be a while, but I've read so many good things about it, and how wonderful it is for your child.
