Has anyone had to deal with schools trying to put asd kids in an ed class?

Does anyone know the way schools use the categories or goals to make the decision for each placement? We have school trying to do this and our whole medical team is saying if we do this he will be in a psych ward within one week. Has high sensory issues in itself that will push him over the edge. He's mostly verbal, high functioning but has an added neurological disorder due to autoimmune undetermined right now… read more

Yes on both for about 4 years. It's changed over the past 2 years especially. Lots of medical issues past 2 years. Focus is fixed just need to get treatment for the autoimmune that is driving the encephalopathy that is really impairing him.
