We have just begun ABA for our 2 year old son. He is beginning to verbalize some through speech therapy, and now we are teaching him how to use PECS to get him to initiate requests. It's a little confusing to me, as it's all new and I'm curious if anyone has any insight to offer.
I use PEC and it helped my son greatly. We made pictures of real food and laminated them and I also made a board on side of my fridge so easy access to him I hate having the notebook lol.
He learned how to grab it and travel with it and hand to me rather having a meltdown. I would try it and have him do it as it will benefit you too.
