I joined a group called Autism Alliance in my area. They have a lot of answers for me and help me a great deal. You should try looking up on the computer Autism in (your own town and state) and see what comes up. Hopefully this will work. Good luck.

Medina creative living, Medina Ohio is wonderful. They have many programs. I would give them a call, if this is not in your area, I am sure they could give you a list of services in yours.

My son's old behaviorist went to work for Easter seals and loves working there. She says she feels very productive and like she's helping more families. I'm sure it varies from place to place but I have heard good things.

I just recently started my daughter in horseback riding and she loves it! It's helping with her anxiety and socialization with others. She isn't in a special class just a beginning level class with very few children. It is interesting that the instructors have noted that they are working with quite a few kiddos on the spectrum.

I had my son in therapeutic horse back riding for a year (age 4-5). First couple of times, he cried and cried and cried. Third time, he jumped on and rode off without a peep. He really enjoyed it but it was not great for socializing for him becuase he gravitates towards adults and avoids kids. Eventually, he stopped progressing and the facility did not have any classes to meet his needs so we stopped. We are now looking for a new facility becuase it was something he enjoyed and he seemed to benefit from in many ways.
