I'm looking for the best Cause and Effect toys for my 4-year-old boy with ASD?
To PandS, thank you very much.
As embarrassing as it's becoming my son is always trying to play with his privates. It's so much we are having a hard time taking him anywhere without getting disgusted looks. Im sure it's a sensory issue. I've looked for abnormalities but there's nothing and his Dr doesn't have anything to say. He's only 8 so it seems a bit young to be going thru puberty. But I need some advice please.
I have checked the area it seems to be normal. He's my 2nd son out of the 3 boys I have. It's definitely a different experience for Davis. I usually gently remove his hands and tell him no hands in… read more
My son did like puzzles by Melissa and Doug at that age, they were a big hit.....
All I want for Christmas is in the Playroom
Toys! Toys, toys, toys and more toys! There is nothing wrong with toys. I’m not one for spending big on Christmas. But, I don’t pass judgment on anyone who does. Some people believe it is child neglect if you don’t spend at least $1000 every season on all of your child’s requested favorites. If you don’t have that kind of money you shouldn’t even be a parent they reason. It’s all about making them happy and seeing their smile as they unwrap presents.… read more
This is a wise choice. I use to spend so muchoney on toys for my toddler but he too does not play with them correctly .
We are having furniture moved on Saturday and need to stay hiding/wear masks in the bedroom/bathroom for about an hour or two while they are here. Any thoughts/ideas on encouaging him to stay in the room with me? Going out for a walk or a drive is not possible.
Pour salt in a cookie tray! We call it "snow" and both my boys (4 and 2) can sit for a good while drawing and rolling their cars through it. Then when they want to "erase" the tracks, they give the… read more
He is completely pee trained, morning and night. He doesn’t want the pull up anymore. He won’t poop in the toilet, but also is fighting the pull-ups. He’s now gone 2 days without pooping and he is in pain. He keeps saying no like booboo and take booboo, while holding his stomach. And he wants me to pick him up and thinks cream will make the pain go away so he keeps applying cream on his stomach 😢
I don’t know how to help him poop. Any suggestions? I’ve tried bribery and he isn’t motivated by tv… read more
To a child, that's a huge hole, enough to swallow them.
I can only guess to My Son it was the noise, or the splash of water on the butt that startles them.
Christmas is rolling around so I'll be doing a toy clean out and I want to get my baby a few toys that could help her learn and not overstimulate her. The biggest problem is that she puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. So if you have kiddos who also do this and you have safe toy recommendations, please let me know! Thank you!
if your little one likes blocks or likes to stack things. I've gotten my daughter the Mega blocks. They are easy to clean. LeapFrog have a pretty good line of Toys that are kid friendly.
my daughter has severe PICA. she will eat anything..... literally! any ideas on something she can stim with that she cant eat that is bendable? she likes straight things like string, shoe laces, chew necklace/bracelet, yarn, straws etc. But she will eat them all.!!!!!!
thank you!
My son is just fascinated with lights--has been from infancy. He didn't face gaze--he light gazed. We often get on him to stop looking directly into a halogen light or even the sun!! I'm afraid this is going to lead him to blindness at some point, but I am at a loss as to what to do about it.
try different colored bulbs or different colored glasses(or lenses) that he can look through when staring at the light to make it more interesting and protect his eyes more.
Care packages, magazines, etc. Anything that makes this a more friendly home for us as parents to learn how she learns and how she may perceive things.
Thank you!
