I needed help with encouragement as well I went to my doctor that diagnosed my son and she printed me a packet out to help with some tactics. She explained to me that the tactics that you would use on a 3 year old or 4 year old will work with ASD children and I have tried some of them and it works. Also I make visual charts of everything like if you do this for me you can have this of your favorite whatever that would be for your child.

Maybe ask about 12 hour release, that is what my son is on so by the time it's bed time when he gets like that with the melt downs I just simply send home to bed. And then we have a fresh start in morning.

Definitely look into that.
