A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

There are so many kids on the spectrum that are picky eaters. It's a real challenge for many. The more they narrow down their food choices, the unhealthier they get. There's a lot of reasons why kids may be reducing their food choices including sensory, nutrient imbalances, toxicity, gene abnormalities (such as the MTHFR gene), etc. (The MTHFR gene mutation prevents them from metabolizing specific nutrients and enzymes).

Thanks for the inquiry LunaElle. The program guides kids on how to put together different food choices, and parents on helping the kids do so; along with helpful tips, guidance and charts on how to implement the food choices and follow the program to achieve success. I'm looking for input as to what parents might think would be beneficial in the program to help them and their children succeed. Can you think of anything that would make your life easier when trying to get the kids to eat a wider variety of foods? What tools would you like at your disposal when working towards this goal? What information would be useful to you when trying to get them to expand their diets and be healthier? This information could be for your use and guidance or for the guidance of your child to encourage them to eat more and varied food choices. An example of information would be charts that show how much food they should be eating for their age in each food category to be used as a guide and goal to achieve. This program could be used for both picky eaters who consume too much or those that consume too little. Thank you.
