We are considering sending my stepson out of state to a recommended transition program with the hope he will learn independent living skills and social skills so that he may one day attend college and/or be employed and live independently. However, he has been quite sheltered living at home. We are nervous about making the transition to his living out of state though professionals we have engaged seem to think he could benefit.
