Poop war rages on... we're at a standstill with a poop every other day lol.

Have they asked you to keep a poop journal? Mine did and even wanted me to take pictures of the bowel movement...gross I know. I'm sure you've sent off a sample too...I think I remember you saying that.

Have they ruled out simple IBS? Sound like classic symptoms for it is why I ask. Look up IBS in children it can be caused by a variety of things even brain to gut issues, and genetics.

I wish you luck, I know it's been a long battle 😘.

My son used to have an very acidic smelling, orangey and uncontrollable poo. It could happen anywhere at any time. It didn't matter if we just got to a birthday party or the grocery store. We would have to leave immediately! We couldn't get him potty trained.

One day, dh and I talked about the gluten free/caseine free diet. We thought it couldnt hurt. It didn't. It made his poo regular and from that, we got him potty trained. We also encouraged more water.

Go to your local health food store and ask them if there are supplements he can take. Also they can help you choose a better diet for the digestive system.

My son has also run the full scope of stools. When he was little he would go up to 2 weeks without a bowel movement. He has also had mucusy stools. I was told that the mucus was from an irritated intestine. I have him on a gluten free dairy free diet and he now goes twice a day. I notice immediate changes whenever he eats something he isnt supposed to. He also takes oxypowder every night which helps him stay a bit more regular. I have also used honey, apple cider vinegar, cod liver oil and coconut oil in addition to the dietary changes. Aloe vera juice was fantastic for my kiddo as well. Maybe your doctor has an opinion as to whether or not these might help your little one. Hugs to both of you.
