My daughter is 13, and nonverbal. Lately she has been screaming in my ear when she doesn't get her way, or doesn't get what she wants immediately. Have any of you dealt with this? How do you respond??? It is difficult when the person is nonverbal, and sometimes has a limited understanding of what they're told.
My son does the same thing. It mostly happens when hes home during the day vs school. School recommends no reaction then reward. It worked initially, but thenwould get tough again. I tried physical activity, but gets hard when he doesnt want to do anything. Itβs detective work for us. Is he hungry, is he tired, does he have pain anywhere, is it sensory( loud noises or any noise), does he need the bathroom..and the big one..is it damn puberty and hormones!? Try everything you can think of & good luck with hugs!!!
ops meant to say Hope you can figure it out etc. Lol
