I am a mom to a 12 year old nonverbal, autistic daughter. We took her out of public school 3 years ago due to the poor program and lack of year round placement. She is in all day ABA therapy that our private insurance covers, she just approved for transportation a week ago. We want to move to NC but are terrified we wont get the same year round services. Looking for NC parents to give me the real story. Or are we making a huge mistake??
Wishing you best on your relocation and hoping all successful for your family, for treatment for your daughter..
The top education areas are not in our area. I actually had to remove my daughter from Taunton because they refused to provide necessary services. Even after hiring an advocate. So we took her out. Shes technically homeschooled but actually attends 35 hours a week of medically approved ABA, I also bring her to speak once a week. If i lived in Boston or Sharon I'd do much better. And its very expensive to live here. Little to no diversity. We are a multicultural family😁 Also my hubby can retire from corrections taking with us his state insurance and pension. I'm just worried about services in NC.
I'd go anywhere I can find a 4 bedroom under $250k that's move in ready and has at least a half acre. We own a home in MA and I know I can put down (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) after the sale. Any suggestions?
