I am looking for personal reviews on Centeria healthcare Autism. My wife and I are looking to start ABA therapy for our son. I found that Centeria has a location near us, I want some reviews on this company.

I think maybe the parents need a course on how to take care of our children. My granddaughter went to public kindergarden she was put in a special group. My son has kept her by himself he feels she does not have autism. She doing great in school but cannot tell u her name or carry on a conversation with u. She does everything else fine she can swim laugh and play games. I love her so I do everything I can. She loves school and enjoys other children. She gets better everyday

I have mixed reviews. Our Tech is great! as is the Operations Supv. The tech's manager who is to appear once per week does not communicate well. We are on the 5th CSM and haven't met him/her. The CSM helps you with the billing. I have yet to get a statement or invoice. People who use Centria have been known to get a huge ($10k) bill at the end of a year's time, depending on when services started.

I also received a letter regarding a serious incident regarding a client suffering abuse:

Dear Centria Families,

We wanted to send you an update and provide context to a recent article in the Detroit Free Press. Unfortunately, the article contained many misrepresentations and was extremely disappointing.

At issue was an incident that happened back in March when a rogue employee abused a child that we were serving. We acted swiftly and decisively to address the issue. We immediately reported the incidence to law enforcement. We immediately reported it to the County Community Mental Health agency. We immediately fired the employee. And as soon as it was legally possible, we broke the news of the incident on our own blog in order to demonstrate full transparency.

The truth is, in ten years in business, we’ve only had two incidents like this, and in both we acted proactively and in the best interests of the people we serve. We have zero tolerance for these issues and have strict policies and mandatory reporting processes to hold people accountable.

To ensure that each child is receiving high-quality and professional care, Centria Healthcare requires its Behavior Technicians to demonstrate mastery of our extensive and structured training program by passing a comprehensive final exam. This onboarding process includes:
Accredited coursework, which includes training on understanding autism, principles of behavior, skill acquisition, HIPAA compliance, ethics for Behavior Technicians, and more
Ethics and emergency coursework to prepare our employees on identifying and reporting abuse and neglect, emergency preparedness, anti-harassment and non-discrimination policies, Medicare/Medicaid general compliance training, recipient rights, and more
Background Checks before being hired - each Behavior Technician goes through six rigorous background checks. These measures are taken very seriously, so that every child can learn in a safe and quality environment.
It is embarrassing when a media outlet distorts your record and paints a picture of you that isn’t true. But it is not demoralizing, and it will not distract us from our mission—which is you. More than 2,000 children with autism and their families rely on us every day.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to serve you.

Best regards,

Scott Barry
CEO, Centria Healthcare
