Wanting To Know About Swimming Classes For An Older Child?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is 9 and Ive waited to sign him up for swimming lessons because of his willingness to cooperate and follow directions. I would like to have him take lessons this summer to keep him busy and because it is something he enjoys! Any suggestions for classes for an older child with Autism?!

Our son started swimming lessons this past summer and his instructor also works indoors in the winter borrowing space from aquatots. It has strengthened his core and improved his confidence. I found an instructor through our local autism community that works specifically with kids with learning differences. I hope you do it!

My twins take swimming lessons in the summer at our local Rec center and I see older kids learning all the time... I would go for it, the rec lessons are way cheaper than all the others around here so if he isn't ready it won't be a huge expense of you have a rec near you...it is $40 for a two week program here...this year, I'm signing my twins up for two so they'll have a month of lessons
