-What’s the best age to get neuropsychologic evaluation?
-Is neuropsychologic evaluation helpful in terms of formulating the IEP and accommodations for school?
-Does insurance cover the evaluation?
-Any recommendations regarding best place to take my child to for this evaluation?
Hello all! I’ve been terribly busy these days. Hope everyone’s doing ok.
Thanks in advance for your answer!
Hi szmmama ! It was recommended to me that our son get one done at the age of 15 to rule out Autism Spectrum Disorder. That is when he was officially diagnosed with Autism. Our insurance covered it, we had to go to their chosen locations.
Private evaluations can be very expensive. Check out your local university. Ours takes 3-4 months just to get an appointment--but it's covered. It wasn't very thorough, though. No recommendations. Now I'm having to do tons of legwork on my own.
Thank you so much for your replies!
My daughter will be turning 6 this summer and Was wondering whether it’s still early especially if not covered by insurance. From my research they cost about $2300 on average! I really like the part where they give recommendations based on their evaluations.
