Looking For Suggestions In Getting 6 Yr Old Dressed For School.
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is 6 years old and attends school M-F. Lately every morning it has been a challenge getting our son to get dressed. He has a meltdown and fights with us. He punches, kicks, screams, you name it. If we tell him to stop hitting he has even more of a meltdown. This has become an issue not because by the time he finally calms down and gets dressed we end up being late to school. We have tried having him pick his clothes. We have also tried having multiple options available to him when getting… read more

Angel Sense
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone ever heard of Angel Sense? If u have have u tried it? My son will be starting classes in September with BCIU/early intervention and im worried how he will do and how teachers will treat him. It has a tracker if ur kid goes missing and u can even listen in on conversation wherever they are. It snaps to clothing or backpack. Wanted to know if its worth getting for the price and is it really reliable. Its rated 5 star's. Let me know what u guys think.

You could look into Apples Air Tags. They are really just for gps, and don’t have video or audio capabilities, but you can hang or place them almost anywhere. If your child has a tendency to take off… read more

Keeping Clothes On. Does Anyone Else Have The Same Problem?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 7 years old daughter takes off her clothes as soon as she gets home and only keeps her underwear on. It used to be a struggle to get her dressed for school or to go out, she finally understood that she cannot go out without clothes. It's a big frustation for all of us, but specially for her teenage brother because he doesn't want any of his friends to come to our house. And I don't blame him, it was cute and funny when she was 2 or 3 yrs old but know that she is 7 and he is a teenager is… read more

Do Any Of You Have A Solution For Helping My Son With Autism Keep His Pants Pulled Up?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son has autism, and is rather independent although he has very little verbal ability. Among all of the other worries with sending him to school his teacher constantly complains that he doesn't keep his pants pulled up. He will pull them up when prompted, but as soon as he bends or sits the top of his bottom peeks out. We typically dress him in sweat pants because he is hard to fit in jeans (his belly stays poked out & he has no bottom) and larger shirts than necessary to keep his bottom… read more

Problems With Putting Too Much Food Into Mouth?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone else have a problem with their kids putting too much food in their mouth at once? Little Man will literally put almost an entire half sandwich in his mouth at once and then try to chew it up. Is this an autism/sensory thing? That possibility just occured to me today but I don't know if there's actually a connection there. Anyone else have experience with this?

Autism And Nudity
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

So, my Sweet Lily has been running through the house naked, every day, for the past two years. Just today, she decided to venture out into the garden, stark naked. Anyone else have a problem with their ASD littles stripping their clothes off at/in inappropriate places? Does it ever stop? Will I ever see the day when my child can successfully wear a complete outfit for longer than a trip to the local dollar shop?
