My 2 year old sister, Elizabeth, was recently diagnosed with ASD. She is getting so much better at correctly pronouncing the alphabet and individual letter sounds, but the letter 'f' is the one she struggles to say the most.

For example, when counting to five, she says: "One, two, ree, bore, bive." The 'b' sound usually replaces the 'f' sound in words that start with 'f,' and I'm trying to come up with ways to continually expose her to correctly saying the letter.

My brother (not autistic) couldn't pronounce the "j" sound until he was around 5. Our cousin Jenni was "Henni" and his stuffed bunny, Mr. Green Jeans was "Mr. Green Heans." He had tubes in his ears to drain excess fluid, and eventually learned to pronounce the sound :)

It is one of the last sounds to come in for many children !! Don't worry , it will come over time. :)
