Help my ex wont give my son his meds on the weekends or vacation time he has him. so my son goes days without it and comes home more upset and violent with his sisters and me. I have try to talk to his father about making sure that he gets it but got told that he can give it to himself which the doctor says no because of where he is on the spectrum. I have tired talking to DFCS where I live and got told they cant do anything because I have the child most of the time. What else can I do because… read more
It is a form of negligence called medical negligence, I believe, for a parent to not give meds. I’m shocked that DCFS won’t do anything! CPS? My ex is the same but my child is only on meds when she is… read more
Has anyone ever heard of Angel Sense? If u have have u tried it? My son will be starting classes in September with BCIU/early intervention and im worried how he will do and how teachers will treat him. It has a tracker if ur kid goes missing and u can even listen in on conversation wherever they are. It snaps to clothing or backpack. Wanted to know if its worth getting for the price and is it really reliable. Its rated 5 star's. Let me know what u guys think.
You could look into Apples Air Tags. They are really just for gps, and don’t have video or audio capabilities, but you can hang or place them almost anywhere. If your child has a tendency to take off… read more
What do you encourage for independent play. Be have drawing and puzzles down but can't seem to find anything else she'll take interest in. She's almost 3 and electronics are not an option at this time.
Musicial instruments is a thought. I'd love for her to learn to play something. :)
Any opinions on which is better to take your child to and to guide parents over the long term, developmental pediatrician or pediatric neurologist?
A developmental Pediatrician is just like an average pediatrician except they specialize in children with developmental disabilities. You can kind of think of it this way, when you are in college… read more
My son was "educationally" diagnosed with Autism shortly before he turned 2 years old. Should I get an "official" diagnosis and where would I get one? Thanks for all the input.
Absolutely. If he has autism an is age 2 a special needs preschool program and services would likely benefit him greatly. For this you need a diagnosis. On a diagnosis there is an area for… read more
I have been struggling with trying to figure out what is wrong with my son for many years and I just want a diagnosis already. My son didn't talk until well after his third birthday. He started speech therapy and OT in our home at 2 1/2. The school took over at three and dropped the OT. I'm not really sure he ever needed the OT, but they were convinced that because he couldn't stack blocks, there was a problem. My son wanted his blocks lined up side by side and had never tried to stack blocks… read more

I have been told so see a pediatric neuropsychiatrist, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, etc. I am thinking of trying to get SSI for my son, but he does not carry the "official" diagnosis of Aspergers. I don't even know where to start looking for these types of doctors and doubt there are any in my immediate area, anyway. I am close to Los Angeles, though.
Contact your local childrens hospital. You will need a developmental pediatrition because spectrum diagnosis is tricky and can often lead to misdiagnosis of metal/emotional disorders. You need a… read more
Do you notice that some days your child is "with you" mentally..and the other day they are off...it's like an every other day thing??
Yes good days and bad days. That what it is.
Hi,
I am looking for help more than answers...do you have an older autistic child? did your child have a major regression between the ages of 2-3 years? Did they go from hitting all milestones early and speaking in sentences with emotion and joy, from playing actively with peers, pointing and making perfect eye contact, knowing all letters and letter sound associations to barely lifting their arms to have a shirt removed? I am looking for any info about kids even remotely similar to my… read more
