Do you think kids with autism are better in school or home schooled?
School. You need the time off, and child will benefit from social skills. It may be hard to find the right fit in a school, but worth it in the end when you see your child succeed.
I agree with “school” in the majority of cases. Time around peers is a valueable teaching tool.
I think it depends on the level of comfort your child has with neurotypical peers. For my son, being in an inclusion classroom has been nothing short of wonderful. He has a 1-on-1 aide, but he has been able to connect with his classmates through repetitive phrases and actions. He is kind of a minor celebrity in town, gets recognized by kids almost wherever we go, which is priceless. Of course, the school itself has to be amenable and able to accommodate a child's needs, which many schools are not. Also, having an advocate to help with IEPs etc. is essential.
Hi,from my personial experience. Kids with special needs have to have that one on one time. Each child is unique in their on way. I home school Yumahad. Started when he got in middle school, i wish i would’ve started sooner than that. It was the best thing for him. Only you know your child. One thing we have to remember, keeping them on a schedule is very inportant. He go on field trips with his class, I love it!
Thank you
