Nerotherapy For Autism Or Medication?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My wife wants have Nerotherapy sessions for my son who is 7 to help him with communication behavior ect. It is not covered by insurance. I think medication would be better. Has anyone used Nerotherapy before and if so how was your experience with it? Thank You

Need Help To Understand Good Suburbs To Consider Moving Out Of Manhattan
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son requires a lot of physical inputs for regulation. I need help from the community to help me landscape the suburbs where we can move into, which have good school districts with proven track record of assistance from the state for the services?

Through my spouse and my use of due process hearings and pro se federal court actions we have brought the Coeur d alene, ID school district into the 21st. Century on educating kids with autism.

Hi there MAT

Sometimes the descriptions and abreviations for the behaviours and disorders throw me! I am sure I am not alone!

Can I post a few I need explained and can you folks explain them and post any abreviations or leases that your child has or that you know of ASD related that could help all of those newbies on the site!
Thank you!

When My Son Is Anxious Or Excited He Bangs His Head On Tables, Walls Or Other People..
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

The other day I was late for an engagement at my sons school. He became so upset and was anxious that we had been in a car accident that he was smashing his head against the table. He was able to calm down enough to talk to me and tell me what was wrong but both his father and I were very alarmed. We had not seen head banging behavior in at least a year or so except when our son was very excited. I am concerned that this behavior is re-emerging, does anyone have any good strategies? Our son… read more

Parenting Friends Of Neurotypical Kiddos Not Understand Neurodivergent Kiddos
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have a group of friends who have been such great mom friends. But ever since Johns Diagnosis they seem to not be as helpful. They don’t quite understand the demands of therapy and ABA and the schedule juggling. They try to help but often I find them more annoying then helpful. They even try to talk to me about their Neurotypical kiddos problems at school and I try to help but also find myself getting annoyed at there problems as well. Does anyone else feel this way. Is it part of the process… read more

Thank you this makes me feel less alone that I feel this way. My friends are great moms but I sometimes wish their biggest struggles are only half of what I have to deal with on a day to day.

Suggestions For Tracker / Locater
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

We are taking our 10 year old daughter with classic autism to Disney World in january, which spurred us to start looking at trackers. I think we have decided it would be a good investment, regardless of the trip, to get her a tracker. Does anyone have experience with them? It is kind of overwhelming trying to choose the right one. I appreciate any suggestions or anecdotes. Thanks!
