my son is nonverbal and I try to keep him occupied by doing sensory and puzzles handwriting he becomes very impatient and very frustrated due to the quarantine situation is there any suggestion he seems to understand very little of what's going on also do anybody have any suggestion in food-wise he seems to like any food but he's been not wanting to eat lately
Youre not alone on the quarantine thing. Every parent out there is struggling with kids and quarantine. THe one piece of advice I can offer is start a schedule and stick to it. Even if your big trip out is to the store.. Keep your child focused. My son starts his day at 7:45. Hes comes up stairs sees my wife and then takes his breakfast to his room, then they come up to do his school work (Schools are closed up here in KY) , they have have a video conference with school. Then its time to pick up lunch from the bus service, then its either store or playtime for a bit. THen in the afternoon he has quiet time for 90 mins. He doesn't need to sleep hes just confined to his room to detox from things. Hes okay with it. Gives Momma and him a break for an hour and a half. Our kids thrive on schedules gotta stick to it though.
Perhaps a new education plan with his Special Ed teacher and the team's Occupational Therapist?
Cooking is a spectacular way to teach math and reading skills as well.
