My son as an adult is back on strattera and doing OK. As a child it was tried but he was severely nauseous and could not tolerate it.

Risperdal did not work for my son. It had many bad side effects, the worst of which was excessive and rapid weight gain. I have been on the medication merry go round with my son for years. It's so tough. I'm sorry you are going through this.

I know w/ some medications will cause hyperactivity and increased apetite. Please make your Dr aware of this. My daughter has OCD and her appetite increased in the beginning. I was told her appetite would increase so I had to watch the portions of food I fed her. I would check w/ the DR

@A MyAutismTeam Member I will have to look in to that medication. My daughter has OCD, repetitive behaviors, aggression, and hyperactive at night so I'm hoping I find the right medication for all or most of these symptoms. She just started behavioral therapy as well so hopefully that will benefit as well.
