We are staying home as much as possible for a variety of reasons, but want to help our young child tolerate wearing a mask or face covering. Anyone have success here or tips? My mom made a face mask of his favorite cartoon but he wanted to carry it around like a purse.
My kiddo will only wear a mask if I say we are going to the dollar store for dots.
Then as soon as the candy is in the basket that mask becomes a problem for him. He will pull it up and down until he secretly makes it disappear
When this pandemic started, my daughter flat out refused to wear a mask. For us, that meant I could only grocery shop when my husband was home (huge inconvenience from our schedule). So I just started wearing mine at different times for a few minutes and had her put hers on for a few minutes. It took awhile but she can now tolerate it for about 30 minutes (grocery shopping time) but snatches it right off once we leave the store. I'm not sure if it was the short practice sessions or her realizing she couldn't go in the store (something we always do together) without a mask. I'm just glad I can get her to wear it now for some time but IDK what we're going to do about school.
My son is 19 and I find that the bandanna works for him. When he wears the mask he always has it under his nose. I brought 12 bandanas in different colors to match his outfits.
My daughter wears the mask because she sees nearly everyone wearing one around here. Amazing to still see large numbers of adults not wearing masks in crowds.
I wonder why people are still getting infected 5 months after the start of the pandemic? I suspect people are burned out or don't think it's that bad.
My granddaughter has been okay for wearing one in the store and is sure she can wear one for a longer period of time
