My son is 2 1/2, non-verbal, and a bolter.... Anyone have any experience with ASD kids and puppies? I found a Aussie Border collie mix that I want to get and train for our boy. Hoping it will help& at least give him a companion. His siblings are much older.
Thoughts? Sanity check?

My son Eli was just diagnosed with ASD. I don't have much info yet, but we will start in home visits next week. Eli is non-verbal, and has serious tantrums in social settings. My question is, what now? What should we be doing while waiting to get started?

My high functioning Aspergers son is 24 years old and a senior at a 4 year college, majoring in Communications. He aspires to work with Transmedia. If you didn't speak with the director of the equity office, do that. If you did, I'd take it to the dean responsible for equity.
My son will be in the 11th grade next year and I am considering homeschooling due to some issues with the structure, the teacher's aides, and the sped teacher quitting. After the sped teacher quit, my son was having issues at school with the teacher's aides. I brought my concerns to the principal and special needs coordinator and they apologized and said it was because lack of guidance since there isn't a sped teacher.
