I've decided to homeschool my child ;
I believe public school that my son is attending, doesn't have the knowledge , to give my son a good education . Does anyone know of any homeschool curriculum for specifically for special needs children ?
I'm looking for the old fashioned way of homeschooling ; that doesn't deal with technology.
I don’t use a packaged curriculum. Some homeschool materials that have worked for me are: Handwriting Without Tears, Life of Fred math series, Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons (worked for some but not for others), and Making Math Meaningful. I use a lot of other homeschool curriculum which I just modify for each child's needs. We mostly write on whiteboard, and only on paper for work that goes in their portfolio. We do a lot of reading aloud together, and working on lessons aloud together, even as teens now. We keep lessons short. I stop in the middle if it's obvious we are done. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink. It's really different for each child.
I was wondering this same thing. I was thinking about homeschooling and I spent hours looking for a curriculum specifically for special needs—I never found anything. I’m hoping other parents have some ideas for us!
