A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Would my high functioning autistic child be eligible for this service? Currently I believe he may have other conditions besides autism. There’s some kind of hyperactivity, ODD, he has begun spitting, and hitting his lil sister as well as wetting himself day and night. He is only diagnosed with autism and his Doctor has said he has ADHD symptoms. He is not on any medication. And at the moment I do not have medical insurance. Hi Blanca! long time! my humble opinion, medication makes things worse, look for all alternatives, are you a member of TACA facebook group , they give so much advice onhow to heal them, Neurologist would prescribe meds but they dont even know if that will fit your child, then if they work for some time , later stop working, also those are just band-aids but not a real solution to the hidden problem. Join Taca, Good luck.

What state do you live in? I am in ohio and I know my son was denied for SSI and for the state waiver three times. But Human Arc helped me get my son on SSI. Every state is different. I would get the ADOS testing done on your son. That testing has to be done by a physiologist. Good luck!

@A MyAutismTeam Member thanks for your reply. I’m in Florida. I think he got ADOS testing when I lived in Virginia when he was first diagnosed at the age of 3. I don’t know if I have such a service as Human Arc here, but I will look into it. Thanks so much.
