Paliperidone Xr Tablets
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Do any parents of children on the spectrum have any experience with this medication. My 23 y/o was started on it over a month ago after cross tapering from Risperidone. I'm still waiting for its full effects to be realized. He is on the maximum dose of 12mg/day, but I've read that during 6 week clinical trials, the dosage was as high a 15mg per day. Have any of you had your child on that high a dose?
Thank you and stay safe.

Here's the answer which I now have in retrospect. It took 13 weeks for the medicine to reach full efficacy. When it did I was able to reduce the dose slowly to an amt that continued to be effective. Hope this is helpful to someone who is also on this journey.
