Kind of...the social worker would set up times for them to socialize and have lunch buddies based on who got along the best. During virtual it would be like a zoom after school meetup. My daughter would only do it if her friend was there, and I never forced it either in middle school they are at that age to me where they like who they like.
My son did experience it at elementary school, and it was during recess and at lunch on Fridays—- lunch buddies. The students found a new friend to play with. For my older son, the fourth or fifth graders were paired up with the kindergarteners and they worked on an art project or something like that. But these weren’t official chapters. Nothing was set up after school hours.
It’s during school hours, during lunch time. But they have opportunities to meet after school. For more information you can go to the website.
