Affordable Products For Deep Pressure Therapy At Home?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

We recently discovered at my sons new school that he benefits amazingly from deep pressure therapy. It helps him curb meltdowns and focus better. I've seen a few online sites with products but they get pretty expensive. He is 13 and wouldn't like a vest or anything noticeable if he used it in public. We really need to find something to use at home because we are still having many meltdowns there.

Swiming. I have twins with sutism and one is soothed from the pressure of having his body submurged in the swing pool. It's amazing how much this has helped him function.

Deep Pressure Vest
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello all! I am looking into getting a pressure vest for my 3 year old son. Are all pressure vests created equal? Can anybody tell me what brand to get and which ones to stay away from? Also, any parent that has used one for their child, does it help? My son has a hard time paying attention during his ABA sessions and is always holding his hand in front of his face.....Any other suggestions?! Thank you!!!!

How Can I Encourage My 5 Year Old To Keep His Hands Out Of His Mouth?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 5 year old used to often put his hands in his mouth, mostly in new situations or when he was asked to do something challenging I think. But about 2 months ago, he started doing it all the time, regardless of the situation. His classmates don't want to be around him. His teacher is always telling him to wash his hands or put hand sanitizer on them. Any advice would be much appreciated.

My Son Is Supposed To Be Getting His Blood Drawn Today.... Any Advice Would Be Appreciated.
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

HELLO, I HOPE EVERYONE IS DOING WELL. My son is 8, mostly non-verbal, hates doctors and fights them off, they know he's Autistic at the lab, he's supposed to get his blood drawn every three-6 months to test liver and kidney levels since he takes Depakote, but they are never able to get blood from him, even with Ativan given to him an hour before, he won't even let them put a blood pressure cuff on him! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is on an ADHD med, Vyvanse. Does anyone have experience using mood stabilizing medication with their children along with Vyvanse or other ADHD meds? How about the addition of blood pressure medication that has been seen to stabilize moodiness caused by ADHD meds?

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is 5.....he has HFA, ADHD combo, SPD, and Pica.....he will use the potty at school but fights at home.....he doesn't mind sitting in soiled or wet pull ups or underwear.....he will go potty if he is changing and has to go.....so now my questions......

How long will this last?
Why doesn't it bother him to be in soiled or wet pull ups or underwear?
Why don't rewards work?
Am I alone in this?
