My son is mostly around family that knows his likes and don't likes so we just go with the flow.
Hi has anyone in the Philadelphia received services for their child ,from Spin,Northeast Treatment Center ,or Drexel Autism Center.

My 2 1/2 year old son was just diagnosed with ASD. She said under DSM 4 he falls under autistic disorder but under DSM 5 it's level 2. I asked what that exactly meant and she said it pretty much means he has sever Autism. Has anyone else had this diagnosis? What should I expect?

My 3yr old son is obsessed with doors, especially opening/closing them.
He exhibits this behavior mostly around us( mom/dad). Any ideas on addressing this?
My nephew's the same. We try to stop him and have taken out all doors in their house except the front door, bathroom and garden door in the kitchen
Check at your local Y. We had private lessons that were arranged through the aquatic director. They were very willing to work with us.
We tested positive for Down Synrome. A 1 in 35 chance. He does not have DS, he has Autism. I wondered if anyone else had a similar result?

My son loses focus a lot. What can I do to help him. And what are you guys thoughts on giving your kid medication too help them focus and listen
I usually would let my son look at me first, eye contact is important and then use a calm voice, making sure he can hear me and then give him a chance to respond being patient for his response.

My son is 2 1/2 diagnosis with ASD and he has been licking anything and everything for a few months now. He has always mouthed everything but now he's licking windows, doors, people, himself and its getting to the point he licks his hands and rubs it all over his face and hair which makes him smell like spit. I don't know what to do!?
Parasites, can be treated with antifungals.
