Does anyone know what level of service Kaiser California considers ABA? Would it be a standard copay or a specialist copay.
Your ABA provider is supposed to collect your standard co-pay if they are contracted with Kaiser
We found music therapy after number of sessions helped - they have in Mencap/charity he goes to but not all the time
Starting at age 3 our child had 40 hours a week of Lovaas therapy aka ABA. It was great.
My daughter (7 years old) already has an ASD diagnosis through our Regional Center. She received it years ago after already having received nearly two years of related services. She is what many would term "high-functioning" as she's mainstreamed at school with only pull out services for speech. This next school year she will also be pulled out for social behavior type classes.
I know anxiety can go hand-in-hand with ASD. More and more of her behaviors appear to me to be in response to… read more
If she’s now of school age (maybe depending on each state but) they typically have a kind of revaluation at that age and you’d be able to discuss the changes/behaviors that you’re seeing. Sometimes an… read more
We are planning to move to another state where there's mandatory coverage for individuals with autism. I saw one poster who said it's about $10,000/year when you add the deductible and copays up. I know states have ACA/Obamacare or other laws but I wonder about the waiting lists and if any therapists will accept it. Yeah, there are Medicaid waivers or a good school district but so far I'm not thrilled the Medicaid route (it's better than nothing) and I'm I assuming better school districts may… read more
We got Dani a BCBS policy for $215 a month with a $1500 ded and $10 copays for therapies like speech and OT. Kept old policy as secondary since same cost for 1 or 2 children. We just need to get ABA… read more
In home ABA therapy specifically.
I highly recommend it, the sooner the better. My son started it when he was 3 almost, 4, but I wish I would have started sooner. It made a big difference for us as a family. He is 12 now, and… read more
I know it covers occupational and speech, but cannot find out about ABA.
Thank you in advance.
In florida Medicade and sunshine and cms will cover aba, but they will only cover it if you don't pay the top tier premium for the insurance. Meaning if you make too much money according to the set… read more
Just curious how ABA therapy works in states requiring insurers to cover it. I work for the Feds and the federal health plan didn't cover ABA for years. OPM now "encouraged" to offer it, but they're not mandated. I've read plenty from my fellow federal employees with autistic children, and the handful of plans covering ABA are a joke. For anyone in MAT land receiving ABA through your medical plan, how is it working? Also , Autism Speaks should have a list of states mandating ABA coverage.
@A MyAutismTeam Member that's great. Your employer rocks for covering ABA :)
Hello,
I recently moved to Plano,TX with my son who diagnosed with High Functioning Autism.
As I am new to this place I am not sure what are the good ABA centers. In addition to ABA we need Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy to be given in the same facility itself.
Does any one know good ABA centers in Plano TX area.
Please let me know.
Thanks

It depends in where you are located. If I was not working fulltime, I would have put my child in a school that is 1 hr away from us but ABA school( private) but can be covered by the district as to… read more
