Any Good Resources For Folks With Chromosome 16p11.2 Duplication Or Parents With Children With This Genetic Variation?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just found out that my 19 month old has this variation (through a chromosome microarray). There seems to be more information related to 16p11.2 deletion over the duplication. Anyone else's child have this? Can I hear from your experiences? We are slated to see a geneticist in September. Thanks in advance!

How Do I Start Building Family And Friends Support Network?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello everyone
We are at the very beginning of our journey... Since testing takes time, I wanted to be proactive and do as much as I can on my own and with help of our family and friends. How do I introduce them to the issue? How do I ask for appropriate help and support? What is the right thing to say and what is not? Is it ok to ask for monetary help (costs of therapy, dietary supplements, therapeutic accessories, etc) if yes, how to do so in a delicate manner
Thank you for all of your… read more

I'm Looking To Hear From Parents With Young Adult Autistic Sons Or Daughters Living In An Assisted Living Facilities With Daily Activities.
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have an Autistic son who turned 18 in 12/22. He is finishing his schooling years in June of 2023 with services offered until 2026. The post secondary program does not warrant much help for those on the spectrum. Many end up going back to the high school environment where there is an autsim program. We are looking to move out of state (from Maryland to the west coast of Florida). My son, I firmly believe, would benefit greatly by living in an environment in an assisted facility with daily… read more

Where Can You Buy Toys Or Gagets That Satisfy The Urge To Tear Up Socks By Pulling All The Strings Out? Also, Where Do Autistic Teens Hang
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My grandson puts himself to sleep by pulling on a sock with his mouth to start to untangle it until all of the threds are pulled out. What can I do to change this behavior.

Also, my 13-year-old grandson is home schooled and has no friends other than family and his puppy. Is there any kind of social activities he and others can attend? Are there any churches who may have Youth Meetings where kids can meet and greet, maybe dance and sing or play card and board games>

I let Stephen tear up old magazines.
There's always a 'event' that leads up to this, and lately it's been going to His mom's.
Figure out the Why/Trigger.
