Hi, we are moving to Chicago this summer and searching for a neighborhood with a good elementary school around. My son has moderate autism and has been thriving since he started ABA and special education at 3. We are currently renting in Huntington Beach but looking to move further south in Orange County. My son is in mild/moderate program, will be in kindergarten next year and looking for a great school. In suggestions private or public elementary schools in south oc?
Finding it hard to research special ed programs online.

My 7-year-old autistic son is high-functioning and goes to grade 1 in a regular school and regular class. He has some challenges with paying attention, sitting, and following some rules but he is doing well academically. His teacher has told us we should consider sending him to special classes in other schools. We feel that the teacher's advice is mostly for her comfort rather than the benefit of our child. Any advice on what should be our strategy toward this problem?

My daughter is having trouble keeping up in class and is behind in reading. She gets help from the teacher but still isn’t completing her work in the classroom. She is reluctant to do homework. She says that she can’t read. She’s reading with help the books that she’s familiar with, and I think that she’s memorizing the words. I am looking for anyone and their location to a great school district for our elementary school aged son. My husband and I are trying to relocate out of the Chicago area. We initially thought private school but are curious if their are great public schools out there. We are homeschooling now but he really does enjoy being in a school setting everyday.

We are planning to move to the US next year. Most likely the Houston area. Looking for better chances for my two kids. I would appreaiate any advice or cooment

I am looking for a elementary school in San Diego that have good special ed programs for my autistic son. We live in san Diego unified school district boundary. I wonder if it's complicated to enroll for schools in another district for a kid with IEP?

That will allow her ABA therapist to attend. She is nonverbal & is turning 5 soon.

Been fighting with school for the last couple of years just to get adequate support for my son. Even with the support I don’t think the quality is good. Thinking about moving to another state. Can any parent share positive experiences with public school? Thanks.
