I don't know where to get social skills therapy. I moved to a town that has money and was supposed to have a good special ed department and it's awful. They just keep wanting to ship him off to residential. My 22 year old non verbal autistic son struggles to go to sleep every night even though he takes medication, him not sleeping stresses me out because he needs sleep, and I also have to tap his chest every night because he can’t sleep by himself and he always needs someone with him, I am with him all night and I can’t get sleep myself until he can get his sleep, I hope I can find a solution to this problem please give suggestions, Thank you!

My son Diego is 5 and diagnosed with autism. Due to his sensory sensitivity (around his ears and neck) we have a hard time getting him to get a haircut. I've tried that and it doesn't work. I've tried everything and nothing.
My son has Absonce Seizures so his doctor first put him on Zerontin well he was having headaches and stomach aches daily as well as losing 2 pounds in 2 months.His doctor switched him to Depakote which has caused very horrible behavior issues so he was switched back to the Zerontin but for the next 3 days he has be on both meds,I'm just hoping that "my" well behaved son returns after the Depakote is out of his system.Has anyone else had experience with your children not listening being violent… read more
My son is 21 and attends our local community college. He's there to get his GED because his high school "decided" to give him a local diploma because they felt he "couldn't do it".
