My Grandson hates to go to school. He is picking up some bad habits. He is hitting and calling his bear "a dork".
We homeschool his siblings and have taught him the alphabet (in and out of context), numbers to 20, 8 shapes, ans several opposites. He is working on colors and phonics here at home. He is 3 years old.

For anyone that homeschools their child, what have you found to be the best high school curriculum?

Does anyone home school there child. Is there consideration for his IEP? We are thinking of taking my 9 yr old grandson out of the school he is attending, where he retreats into his own world 99% of the time, and having me homeschool him. He is a bright boy, but needs 1:1 direction at all times. In his district, a 1:1 aide is not used appropriately, the teachers seen to have them help in the class generally. Any advice or experiences would be a help. Thanks!
Whether or not a homeschooled child is eligible to receive IEP services really varies by location. Where I live, children who homeschool independently are not eligible for services but those who… read more
I'm looking for any parents who have homeschooled kids from kindergarten or 4/5yo and up. I'm just starting out and would love to connect with someone else who's done this before.

My son is refusing to learn in class and is interfering with the learning process of others. I am considering homeschooling or online schooling with my son. My son does participate in social groups outside of school so that element will not be completely missed.

I really just want to explore ALL the options available to my children. My oldest son not being able to tell me if someone is hurting him or mistreating him is very worrisome. Every other day there's another heartbreaking story. I'm just tired of our children being abused. At this day and time, I am not concerned that either of my boys are being mistreated, just wanted to let you guys know :-)

Hello Everyone,
My question is in regards to Homeschooling / Charter school options in California. I know California has strict laws about Homeschooling and having to register as a private school in your home. I've been struggling to decide what options are out there. My son is in 2nd grade and has been in public school since Pre-K. He had done fairly well, but now he is falling behind in some areas. Also, he is now experiencing things he hadn't before such as crying during recess, he won't… read more
