Best Public Elementary Schools For Autism Tempe Arizona Public Schools
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi. I just moved to Arizona from Ohio. My son is 10 years old and on the spectrum. In Ohio he was in public schools and it was a nightmare for kindergarten through fourth grade. I wanted to enroll him in a Autism school however I learned that I can’t because they need a years worth of Arizona IEP . So I’m left with no choice but to send him again to public schools so I was wondering if anyone could tell me a school that had a good rep for being able to assist children with autism.

Autism Schools In Snohomish County?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone know of any good schools for two kids that are low functioning? I've been dealing with Everett school district and finally found a decent one. But they will have to go to a different one in 6th grade. My spouse works in Sultan which is near Monroe. So Snohomish, Monroe would be ideal. But Bothell, Kenmore, Woodinville wouldn't be out of the question. Any input would be appreciated.

IEPs
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son attends a private Christian school and they do not do IEPs. How can I go about seeing if my son needs one. Most of his issues are social but he's got low grades and does have trouble understanding the math concepts. Do private schools have to provide IEPs?

Private schools do not have the resources of special education teachers. I would get him/her out of private school and find a good public school with great special education teachers.

Which State Has The Best Public School System To Support ASD Kids.
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Been fighting with school for the last couple of years just to get adequate support for my son. Even with the support I don’t think the quality is good. Thinking about moving to another state. Can any parent share positive experiences with public school? Thanks.

Do Every Public School Have Shadows? Are They A Requirement?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is barely verbal and i believe he needs someone to help him find his class in the mornings and make sure he doesnt run out in front of cars in the evenings while he's waiting to be picked up. I thought shadows were a requirement but this new school doesn't seem to be concerned at all. Are there requirements for public schools?

What Should I Do For My Son When It Comes To School?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

hey everyone, got a huge dilemma. I had my son in an ABA program that with state funding was very affordable. We got a great opportunity to move to a new city, which meant taking our son out of his program. We thought we were going to make things better for our kids, more money and time as a family. Long story short, two months later we are back in the dfw area. I may not be able to get him back in his old program that was helping him soooo much.Because of money issues it looks like our main… read more
