I just found out that my 19 month old has this variation (through a chromosome microarray). There seems to be more information related to 16p11.2 deletion over the duplication. Anyone else's child have this? Can I hear from your experiences? We are slated to see a geneticist in September. Thanks in advance!

I'm looking for an eye doctor in the Houston area to give me a second opinion on his prescription. Currently we go to U of H to have his eyes checked, and they do a great job, but I'd like to make sure it's the correct prescription since my son is not able to tell me. I'm willing to travel to Austin or San Antonio as well. I'm having a hard time finding an eye doctor willing to see an autistic child.

I posted a question a couple months ago about SSI and my 8yr old grandson. My daughter applied August 13th. The intake person told her she felt they would not request additional evaluations because she had so much documentation. Yesterday she got a large packet. Where to find help

Alexa just turned 3, we just got ASD, GDD, and Expressive Language Disorder DX. ABA, private speech and OT were recommended for her from her team. We have been utilizing services through EI, but due to budget constraints what we receive is very limited (2 hrs. a month). My husband is a full-time student and I am a SAHM to our 2 little ones. Please tell me if this test helps in treatment and what are the things to do be done if this is positive.

Our son has in school services. But it was recommended that he has in home services. We know that there is cost to the in home services & insurance usually does not cover. Would SSDI be the right avenue to go & do we need an attorney to get that? We are still in the process of getting him into counseling through the county mental health department. But we really do not know how to proceed with this. Thanks for any suggestions.

As a parent who will soon have a working young adult child starting soon and I don't want him to lose his SSI if any of you parents or anyone who understands that my question is for example like do you work two days or just the weekend from what-to-what hours.
