That's great.
Our 4 year old son with HFA 1 is supposed to be potty training but he spends every second of every session asking for the lights to be turned off and on and off and on and off and on and commenting as to whether the bathroom exhaust fan is on or off. When near switches, he will flip them off and on repeatedly, stimming in between, for half an hour sometimes and during this time we cannot get his attention for anything. Almost two months of potty training has produced no progress. We are… read more
I was really worried around that age that preschools and daycares would not take my son because he was not potty trained. Fortunately, the places in my area seemed to expect to be working with kids… read more

I know its still early Hunter is only (30 months), but I have had some resources already saying that come october (when he is 3) they will be buying all our diapers. (lol dont get me wrong that is awesome, but makes me question how far he is away from the average child with ASD from being potty trained)
He shows no interest in the toilet other then flushing it. I have sat him on it a few times but he does not like it one bit.
Where did you find somewhere to buy your diapers? I need that!
My daughter is almost 3 (diagnosed ASD with early intervention) and she is showing signs of wanting to use the potty such as taking off clothes and pull-up when wet. She will sit on it for 2-5 seconds unless I start counting to 30 then she'll stay longer. Here's the problem she senses when she has to pee but refuses to sit on the potty when doing so and can't communicate when she has to go. We have tried the timer, reading the PECS which she won't use at home but in her class.....any… read more
Have her sit on the potty every 20-30 mins whether wet or dry. Celebrate and reward sitting, celebrate and reward using the potty. Good Luck!
My 3 year old grandson has autism and sensory disorder. He is scared of the potty ,refuses to even sit on it. He poops in the floor and hates to wear clothes ,Does anyone have any suggestions ?
If he is eligible for Head Start, there's help. They are geared towards children with disabilities and even if the family exceeds the income guidelines you should still apply because they give… read more
Daughter will not use the toilet, she will sit there (no results). We have tried bribes(toys, candy, videos)panties, pullups, setting her potty chair in the living room, taking her every hour, but nothing seems to work. she doesn't seem to care that she's wet and she will wait and go in her diaper. Any sugestions?
My daughter didn't understand what it was that she was supposed to be doing in there. She had no context for words like potty, poopoo, and peepee. Finally, my wife closed the door and personally… read more

I feel as though my little one who is 4yo is ready for toilet training. What can you do to help them hold in their pee, until reaching the bathroom? I can't have potties everywhere! although I'm tempted to do just that lol. He has a fear of the toilet, however he is way more open to the idea than his brother who withholds BMs. The little guy is quite conscious of when he has to go, and has held it for up to 10-15min, but only with a huge amount of effort and crying (days where daddy had to go… read more
