A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

So recently I watched a great docomentry on Netflix called "The Magic Pill" it basically describes how many people are on heavy medication and what if they cut out all carbs from their diet and ate like "cave men" their health would improve. SSI Savings /checking Limit
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son recently started getting SSI. I heard there is a limit that he can save or he will lose it. What is limit? How do they check his account? Is it monthly or yearly average limit? If his check is due, can his account be just below limit or does it need to be enough below to have room for his check to be deposited without going over? Least question is most important. So difficult to teach saving for next months rent! I hope he can go off one day.

Girlfriend Wants To Limit Screen Time
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Her son is 11 years old and I believe he is high functioning with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level One. We are very worried that he may run away from home because he has done that in the past. He ran away and sat in the park. How should we gradually limit his screen time?

Currently, there is no hard limit. When his mother goes to work, he sometimes play for 8 hours a day. Her family is having trouble setting limits as they are busy themselves. I can supervise every Saturday, but I have to… read more

Anyone Ever Try Supplements (B6, Calcium, Magnesium, DMG) To Help Reduce Self Injury? Outcomes?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been doing a lot of research on the internet lately to see if there is any other natural things that may be of use to my severe autistic 13 yr old daughter for self injury. I have seen a lot of people try supplements B6, Calcium, Magnesium, & DMG and some have had a lot of success. Just wondering if anyone has tried these with their child? and the outcomes? Any negative effects?

A MyAutismTeam Member

I've given my son B6 and Magnesium together before. After a few months, it seemed to lesson his hyperactivity. I gave him DMG when he was younger, but I don't remember how well it worked.
